I have a 79' Firebird. I can not close my hood. It seems there is a problem with the hood latch. Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know how to fix this?
without seeing the latch makes this difficult, does anything look bent or out of alignment? have you had someone activate the release while you watch the latch, it may be stuck. Have you tried spraying it with any type of lubricant?
The latch is the rectangular tower type. I have sprayed it with lubricant. The top portion of the latch is fine, but the problem is the lower hook latch. My guess is that the latch my have some type of an adjustment to raise it so it can make contact with the hood insert for the latch. What do you think?
