How can I tell if I have remote (keyfob) entry?

Currently have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am w/ the 6cyl. The car has factory power package (windows and locks). I bought the car used and only got keys with it. How can I tell if it is capable of being accessed by a key fob or do they all have that capability by default? Will the VIN clue me in?

I see remotes on Ebay, etc but read somewhere that not all Grand Ams have that functionality.

provide your VIN number to a GM dealer, they maybe able to check what options the car came with.
