My grandson just bought a beautiful used Grand Am, but the radio is in loc mode and will not work. How can this be fixed? Thanks in advance for your help.
The only way this stereo can be unloced is by taking the car to a Pontiac dealership. Because they either have the codes or can get them to unloc the stereo. The dealerships will not and do not give the codes out to anyone for the reason of the stereo may have been stolen from another car. So you have to bring it to the dealership.
You have to have a special code to enter so you can unlock it. the code comes with the stereo when it is new. If you bought it new and you don't have the code you may not get it to work. It happened to me with a Sanyo that I bought. I ended up throwing it away.
