is it possible to put driver and passenger airbags in a 1988 pontiac fiero gt? if it is around how much would it cost?

Anything is possible if you have enough money. Let me put it to you this way... the average cost to replace airbags in a vehicle already equipped with them is about $3500. It would cost way more than that to install them in a car like yours that did not have them to begin with

yea it is possible but not a good idea....the car wasn't meant to have air bags and may not have the clearance needed to put them in(driver to wheel clearance)
but yea u cud put them in but wud take sum 1 noin wat they r doin...ud hav to put sensors in the bumper as well as get a later model steering wheel that has air bag in it already.... u cud hit up a junk yard and get the parts... but air bags r EXTREMELY dangerous to wire as well as highly susceptible to voltage changes.....which is y ur supposed to disable them wen u work on vehicles with air bags
as far as how much it wud cost depends on wether u do it ureself or hav a shop do it.... i wud def recommend havin a shop do the work....

You cannot install airbags in a Fiero. First there isn't any room in the steering column and none of the later airbag equipped vehicles has a steering coulmn that will fit a Fiero. So you would need a custom made steering column. Second, the wiring, sensors and controller would need to be integrated into the chassis. You would need an automotive engineer to review the chassis in order to properly place the sensors and the airbags.
By the time you did all of the above, You could have bought a brand new car with airbags and saved a lot of money.
