how difficult is it to transition the soft top in a Pontiac solstice GXP?

I hear the major complaint for the solstice is its tiny trunk and difficult soft top.

The MX-5's soft top is incredibly easy to transition in and out of, but it doesn't have that turbo ecotec engine that I like.

You should really buy a geniune performance roadster, like the S2000, but only if you want a power soft top that doesn't require any monkey business, and only if you enjoy real performance and Honda quality.

I rented the Solstice recently, and am not impressed. Nothing seemed to be where I wanted it to be, the top was a joke, and the trunk was even worse.

Try the S, and be prepared to want nothing else.

I should amend my last posting by saying that, after having figured out how to deal with the softtop on my rented Solstice, it wasn't much harder to stow than on a Miata I rented recently. Still, it's kind of rinky-dink to have to those two little "wings" to plug in when putting the top back up. The loss of the trunk with the top down is a real drawback, too.

I enjoyed my drive through the hills east of Phoenix today, but found the powertrain on my non-GXP car seriously lacking. Handling was almost as good as my S2000, but overall quality was not even close. A nice car for those with no sporting intentions, though.
