I just got my compressor replaced on my car and since then, the check engine light has been on. Everyone keeps saying, Just re-set the check engine light. I don't know how....

Does anybody know how to reset or turn off the check engine light for a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire???

If you had the car electronically diagnosed to find out why the check engine light was on, and that issue was fixed, then it takes a few hundred miles of driving before the light goes off.

If the check engine light didn't come on until AFTER the repairs, there is like a seperate issue, and the car needs to be brought in for a diagnostic test, which is what Autozone provides for free. Then the situation needs to be remedied and THEN you need to drive for ac ouple hundred miles to reset the light.

Either find someone with a programmer or you can go to autozone where they do it for free.
