how do i tell if i have a regular 1991 firebird or a trans am?

i know it is a v8 but it doesn't say trans am or formula.

if it doesnt say trans am its not a transam lol it should say on it...look up the vin number

Find a Pontiac VIN number decoder online and plug your VIN number into it. Also...what does the badging on the car say??

Sean doesn't know firebirds if it has a 5.7 liter it is a Trans Am GTR
if it has a 5.0 liter it is either a regular firebird, formula firebird or a Trans Am. there will be the term Trans Am in many places on the car in the dash area on the out side. If you cant find the Trans Am lable its probably not a trans Am
