...Sunbird? Basically, I just need to figure out how to realease the tension so that I can replace the worn belt. I can get at the pulleys, and I have the routing diagram, I'm just unsure of the procedure to remove the old belt. Any help is appreciated...thanks

The Tentioner Is Spring Loaded Just Pull It Back And You'll Have All The Slack You Need To Change The Belt.

drive the car off a cliff..........best thing you could do for that P.O.S.

Most tensioners have a square hole that a 1/2 inch ratchet or breaker bar fits into and is used to release tension while removing the belt.

This is not a DIY project not to be rude but if you have to ask you would better off taking it to a shop. I'm a mechanic at Pep Boys the charge is not that bad hell catch a mechanic when we are closing and 20 bucks give or take they'll put it on for ya!

You could end up not getting the belt back on and then cost ya more, or you could hurt yourself when the tension-er springs back it's not real hard but it's not cake either!
