how do you get the window crank off a 1997

pontiac grand am? i have a 1997 pontiac grand am and need to replace the window regulator, but need to get the door panel off and the window crank, but cant figure out how to get it off and all tips of how to possibly get it off have failed. and no there is not a simple screw holding in on. thanks

There is a small circular clip that holds the crank on you should be able to get to it by pushing the door panel back and using a small piece of wire in a L shape (use a piece of coat hanger wire works well) just take a short piece and bend a 1/8" hook (L) in one end and make a loop in the other end to hold on to .. stick the L under the back of the handle and try to hook the clip (it is kind of shaped like an Omega symbal or a C with ears .. try to hook it on the "C" part and pull it off the handle the handle will then pull off and the clip can be pushed back into the slot it came from and the handle will just pop back on when you are done...
