How do you remove automatic shifter head, 95 pontiac firebird?

I'm replacing stock grey carpet with black, and I'm curious as to how to, remove the automatic shifter head, and possibly center console.

There is a u shaped clip on the lower front of the handle. Pull this clip out and the knob should come off. Look for screws tn the console and under the shifter plate to remove the console.
