How do you remove the electronic governor/ limiter chip on a 2005 6.0L V8 Pontiac GTO on track usage...

...only!? Note this is not for street usage. Only for speed trials at the track.
The engine is a stock 400hp LS2 6liter v8 in a 2005 GTO

It can be done with a GM tech II type scanner and the factory downloads from GM .. but I don't believe there is any actual "chip" it is programmed to the tire rating that was stock for the car ..
Example if the car got "Z" rated tires rated for 130+ mph it would probably NOT be limited .. but GM sometimes limits the fuel curve and spark on cars that have lower tire ratings for liability purposes ..
in those cases the programming can be "upgraded" to the higher rating by reprogramming it to the higher spec ..
your dealer may or may NOT be capable of doing the programming ..
some will not due to liability reasons ..
I am not sure but I would think other (performance) shops may have the capability to change the factory programming you would need to check it out
most late model performance vehicles are able to be programmed to some extent ...
