How hard is it to get to the EGR valve on a 99 pontiac montana?

Mine has flunked and my dad is doing it this weekend. He lives an hour away so hasnt looked at my car but has done them before. He isnt sure how hard mine is to get too? Anyone know, are we going to have to take out the alternator or anything?
