How low can I go on a Pontiac G8?

Now that Pontiac no longer exists under GM, what kind of deal can I get on a G8? With the current rebates that expire 7/31, it looks like I can get about $4500 cash back, not including discounts for my being a student and a member of a credit union. This already makes it a great deal, but I want to know how low I can get the price before taking those discounts into account. Considering that it's a discontinued brand, that there are still 2008 models on a good number of the lots (can I get the depreciation of that year's model taken off of the final price?), and that the resale value on Pontiac has plummeted since its discontinuance, what would a dealer take off?

I think the G8 is a great car, and I'm not worried about the warranty being honored, since GM has already said that they'll continue to honor the warranties. But, honestly, any product is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and the resale value on Pontiacs has dropped like a rock since GM dumped them. So, taking that into account, what's the lowest that you think I could offer a dealer without them throwing me out on my butt? I'm seeing even brand new 2009 G8's for around $25k - do you think I could get a 2008 for under $21, prior to rebates?

Been looking at them too. If you use the the discount for credit union membership, you are geting the same price as supplier. I don't know what the student discount adds. My experience is the only way the dealer will deal beyond that is if the car was a demo. Dealer have given me different price per mile discount from 10 to 20 cents per mile.

The discounting is either $4500 or 0% financing up to 60 months, but not both. It usually works out to be cheaper to take the 0%. IN that case, the discount is really no more than what the other Gm brands are offering.

Doubtful you woudl be able to get an 09 for 21K.
