how many 1984 pontiac fiero indy 500 pacecars were made and how to decode vin?

hi everyone! ive looked on the net but no luck... im looking at one that parts have been taken so i need to use the vin number to prove if its one or not... but i dont know production numbers or anything.. thanks guys!
 
i do not think the Indy had its one Vin i believe the Indy was a add on to the SE
you might be able to tell by the rpo codes
 
They only made 2000 Fiero's as 1984 Indy pace car's and they have the VIN for a 1984 Fiero SE.
The RPO code determines if it's a pace car.
The RPO codes are under the front hood on the driver side wheel well and are 3 digit codes for all options on the car. It should have a Y82 for Indy Pace Car ltd. edition (also these are Included AD3,B34,DG7,D80)
