I'm planning on taking a four hour drive out of state in my car..how far can I really go on a full tank of gas and do you think it is a good idea to travel that far in an older car?
How many miles can a full tank of gas take me in my 2003 Pontiac Sunfire?

When you reach a half of a tank, just fill it up again. Just figure you can go twice as far again!

4 hours at 60 miles per hour is 240 miles. The car has about a 12 or 13 gallon tank so you can go 240 to 260 miles at 20 miles per gallon but hopefully you get better gas mileage than that. As far as a good idea, it depends on how many miles are on the car and how well you maintain the car
