How much would it cost to repair a blown head gasket in a 1996 pontiac...

...sunfire? I finally found out what is wrong with my car, blown head gasket, now i need to know how much it is going to cost. I dont know how much the part or the labor would cost.
 
Figuring for a 2.4L eng. about 50.00 in parts and anywhere from 300-700 total thats here in arizona.
 
about 300.00 to 500.00 it depends on who is doing the job if you do it about 125.00 for the parts and it is not a fun job i would get anouther cheap car

I've replaced a headgasket on a 93 2.0 litre it took a few days cuz I wasnt in a rush but I counted 5hrs. total.You'll need a valve cover gasket as well as a headgasket.Dont take the intake off,leave it on the cylinderhead.Just leave the timing belt on so when you lift the head off,You'll lift it from the other end and the belt will be falling off from there.For $70 I did it.You may take it in but it costs alot like up to$700.
 
Depends if you warped or cracked any heads. Head gasket only, about $300-$600. If any heads need replacing you could be looking at up to $1200.
 
i would say closer to 600 hundred dollars if it has overheated make sure the shop sends it to a machine shop to check the head for leaks and straightness
 
If its just the gasket which is pretty rare, usually craked head. Just to replace gasket and check head, around 550.00 parts and labor. If you need a head about 1200.00. Good luck
