Not easy to explain fully to a beginner.Your best bet is to buy a Body Service Manual that will have illustrations and instructions on what needs to be done. ...well worth the price if you plan on doing lots of work yourself and also a regular Repair Manual like Chilton or Haynes or online sites like Eautorepair.net. You'll need a set of English and possibly Metric wrenches and sockets, visegrips, pliers, screwdrivers, hammer, WD-40 or rust penetrant spray, etc...Removing is easy, basically, you unbolt any bolts holding it on....top, front, inner wheel skirt and bottom rear corner, making sure to mark where the bolts came from...it's reinstalling and shimming that can be hard to get it lined up right. If you remove the hood, make sure to scribe or outline how the hinges are bolted in place to get them back in the same spot so it opens and closes and fits properly. Swing by a few bodyshops and ask for advice from some bodymen.
