I have to remove a steering wheel to replace my light switch that's on the column. I've looked everywhere but best I find is undo the batt. cables. Is that it?

Disconnecting the negitive battery cable will disable the air bag but you can also look for the yello cable connecter under the column it should be clearly marked as an air bag connector ..
