how to get dealer codes erased for1996 firebird?

my ses was on so took it to autozone they said it was a transmission codes but couldnt give me what was wrong its a 3.8 series to moter it did however go off for a periode of time i want to clear the codes and should i be taking these two cods serious and i want to keep this code off i just bought the car when i test drove it the ses light was off took it down the road after signing the papers the ses light came back on can somone help me please this is my first sports car

Have Autozone write down the code number and then they'll use their scanner to erase the code and reset the light. But if the problem occurs again, it'll trip the code and the light will come back on.
