i have to put a fuel pump in my car and need to know where its located on the gas tank

- Find a siphon that is battery operated and has a long enough hose that you can stick it into the tank from the fill up port.

- Drain the rest of the gasoline into a large mouth container and blend it with the other siphoned gasoline in a receptacle that holds combustible liquid.

- Inspect the straps that hold the fuel tank up and under the Grand Am. If they are rusty, replace them. Also check the condition of the clamps—replace them if they are rusty as well.

- Grip the nuts at the ends of the straps and loosen them. Let the tank drop to the ground slowly. Gravity will force the tank to the ground very fast—your job is to let it land softly.

- Push the old tank from under the Grand Am and pull the new fuel tank into position. Fasten the straps with new nuts.

- Put the nozzle of the receptacle into the fill port and pour the gasoline into the new tank. Check to make sure the gas leak is resolved—if it isn't, shut the car off immediately.
