I purchased a Sony Explode deck for my car so that I could plug my ipod into it (I'm not a ricer lol) and when I went to install it I came to a problem. The connector I bought that connects the factory wiring to the deck was the wrong one. I figured it would still work on my car however it didn't(It was for sunfire models up to 1999 I believe). The problem is no one seems to have the right connectors for a 2001 Sunfire. I was also wondering if I have to do any cutting and screwing around with wires even if I find the right connector and if I will still have all the cars normal chimes(such as door chime or headlight warning chime). Also, The plastic casing for my car which is for my year didn't really fit that great(it is universal for a few cars) is it normal it did fit perfectly with the moulding? Thanks!

there is a connector for that scoshe makes one i thinks its called GDMA, not completely sure. around 8$. also the car will have a different chime it will ring 3 rings 3 times, i have the same radio you will not hear any old warning chimes.
you can get a fit kit which will make the deck fit right in with hardly any gapping. ususally 15$
