How to make my firebird get a 14 flat in the quarter mile?

my buddy has a 99 gt mustang and he hit a 14 flat and just for fun I took the firebird my sister gave me to the track hit a 17.1 and then a 16.4.. id love to outrun him with a v6 so whats the cheapest easiest ways to get better times.. i know more then the majority about cars but not a whole lot and im thinkin back in the childhood days of playin video games and the biggest upgrade was a supercharger but whats your opinion how to get better track times.. ive already thought of takin the spare tire out to get that fraction of a second difference in time.

I guess it depends on how much money you want to spend. Start with a cold air intake and a better exhaust system

You will need a power adder(blower/turbo) or spray it to get to that level.
