How would you adjust a lifter on a Pontiac Firebird

engine? Im getting a tapping/ticking noise coming from the top end of the engine, under the valve cover, on the far back cylinder on the passenger side of the motor. I have a oil leak, which i need to fix, which im thinking is the rear main seal so i have to keep putting oil in it. What is this ticking, and how do I fix it?
This is a 1990 Firebird with a V-6.

Without hearing it its hard to tell, but it could just be a lifter tick, or maybe your motor is about to go bye bye... If your oil leak is bad then it wont be getting proper lubrication to the top end and that may the end of it. Youll have to pull the valve covers off and see if you can see anything broke, check to see that its getting oil when you have them apart.
