Beautiful car Chris! I'm guessing it's an automatic? Which engine are we looking at there? I think 72 still had a bit of horsepower, I believe it was 73 when they started dropping horsepower like a roller coaster!

Yeah Kevlar, its a 350, 350 auto car. Thinking the winter project will be a engine rebuild, with a upgrade on the cam. Would love to do a 400/455 swap, but will have to see if I can find a reasonable price on one.

You know Chris, the 350 is a great power plant. There are so many things you can do with it to increase performance and maybe economy at the same time. Plus, you won't have the added weight of the big block and won't have to worry about beefing up your front end to compensate.

You can get a rebuild kit from B&M for the TH-350. Maybe improve the suspension with Eibach springs ..... that little baby would be a beast!

Actually in the world of Pontiacs there is no big block versus small block like with Chevrolet, they are all the same basic block with different bores and strokes and head configurations.

Well, Ok. Small journal v large journal. I'd stick with the original block, maybe punch it out to 4.1225 for a 400 cid, use the 400 large valve heads and maybe the 400 HD cam or an improved aftermarket from Isky rather than go with th long stroke of the large journal 455, but that's just me.

;-)
