humming noise 95 formula lt1

has anyone had a humming noise above 40mph. the trans is working good, fluid is red and changed. the rear end i changed the fluid a while ago, but it has a slight clunk occasionally, light theres a little play in the gears, i didnt think it was a problem but the humming noise has me worried, any suggestions or thoughts would be apprec iated

you cannt determine whether it is from the front or rear of the car or a particular side?
you are sure it is not a front wheel bearing?
you rechecked the rear end fluid level?
the clunk sound, have you checked the transmission and engine mounts?
