Hi all. I'm new to this forum, and was wondering if anyone could help me out. The fan switch for my 2001 Sunfire isn't working properly. The fan speeds work properly on 1 and 3, but not 2.

Is there a resistor I need to replace, or is it something else? Thanks in advance for the help/advice.

Yes, the resistor has gone bad. This is a very common problem on many GM models that I see frequently at the shop. The blower motor resistor is located just behind the blower motor under the passenger side of the dashboard. It is retained by 2 7/32nds/5.5mm screws. The one closest to the firewall can be a PIA to get at. A universal helps alot here and if you wish you can remove the blower motor to make getting the resistor out easier. Should be retained by 3 7mm screws.

The NAPA part# is BR81.

Thank you so much for the support :) Now I'll see if I can find it, and then fit in ther to change it. Thanks again!
