I accidently put 5w 30 in my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire when I've been using 10w...

...30 for 8 years. WTF? What is going to happen? Should I change the oil to 10w 30 now or just next oil change. I live in Texas and it gets really hot here. For those who are wondering, I changed the oil on two cars and Autozone now used those 5 quart jugs. 10w 30 was in front and I just assumed that the one behind it was 10w 30 also. I didn't notice until I finished changing my erl.

Should have been using 5W-30 since vehicle was new.

I have a '93 Sunbird LE with 2.0 L4 and have used:
10W-30 conventional, straight 30W conventional, and for a few years to now 5W-30 Blend and Full Synthetic.
Manufacturer states 5W-30 SAE.
I concur, NO HARM as stated by melsg5.
