I had brakes including rotors replaced on my 2006 Pontiac Montana SV6with AWD.?

The next day the following message appeared: "AWD is disabled". The mechanic who fixed the brakes said there was no connection. A dealer told me that it could be that the mechanic used the wrong rotors. He needed to use rotors with "reluctors". Does this make sense?
