I have a '00 Pontiac Montana. The Service Traction message has been...

...appearing in the little screen display ? a few times and the TCS OFF light comes on, and the ABS light too. But I turned the car off and came back 20 minutes later and it did not give me the service message. It seems intermittent..... And several times in the past week, the Anti-lock system has been coming on for no reason. I'll be stopping in dry weather and the van will Use the Anti-lock feature. Its dangerous! How do i find the trouble codes on this vehicle? Is it like the older cars where the Service engine light flashes different amounts for different codes? And maybe the master cylinder is bad??

the two systems are separate really, the abs is strictly brake control, and the traction control is watching the activity of every axle, to see a greater difference in wheel rpm. you could pull codes to see where the problem lies. the abs is a different section of the cu in most systems. the traction control light that could be a few different things. i would see if you can not find an obd2 scanner and start there.
