I have a 1994 pontiac grand am.. There is only a cap for the transmission. How do i know the

fluid level? The car was bought used. had it for over a year now. it is starting to act slugish and want move. I thought it needed transmission fluid but there is only a cap where you put the fluid in. How do i know how much to put in.?

it supposed to have dip stick, if not, check your car manual, look for the quarts/liters the tranmission can hold, then drain all old fluid outs and replace new fluids in

If its an automatic you wont have a cap for the transmission, you will have a dipstick,, if its a manual, you should be able to look and tell by the level on the side of it,, One inexpenxive way , is just go to one of these quick lubes and ask for a transmission fluch and they suck the old out and replace with new,, Thats a side mounted engine so you dont have to drop the pan,
