i have a 1998 pontiac sunfire. the low beams on the car refuse to work, but...

...yet the brights work just fine.? my car lights (low beams) just refuse to work. The brights seem to work just fine. My dad (who is a mechanic) looked at them, he thought maybe it was the bulbs. He changed the bulbs, but still nothing.. brights work, lows dont. He checked all the wires and checked the voltage n stuff like that with this car light thingy to test the voltage.. on brights it was 125. and on lows we got nothing. HELP!!! :S
 
I had the same problem with my 2000 sunfire. Replaced the multifunction switch and they work fine now. Dimmer switch is part of the multifunction switch.

+ 1 for the switch being the problem. I had the same issue, and it turned out that the switch was bad.
 
I have the same problem, except my highs don't work, but the lows do.

Where is the multifunction switch exactly?
 
It's the stalk assembly you use to turn on the lights, highbeam, lowbeam, etc. Make sure the high beam filaments arent burnt out before doing anything else.
