I have a 2000 Pontiac sunfire 4dr I took my to girls to get fitted for their cheerleading uniforms when we got there and got out of the car it smelled a little hot but the guages didnt read hot and the ac was working when we came out and got in the car to leave the ac wouldnt come on and still has not came back on acts like it is getting no power when i switch it on any suggestions

fuse at the compressor probably no good. under hood. check it. take the fuse out and jump terminals with a piece of wire if compressor comes on the fuse was bad. DO NOT have your hands around the compressor while it is running
first of all dont put a wire there, fuse blows for a reason
either replace the fuse, or use a test light to check it
there is a high switch at the rad, right in front sometimes wire breaks or grounds out
and other times the switch is gone bad
really need a scanner to check it
is there any codes
at the compressor there is no fuse it a diode put in reverse to stop voltage spike
