I have already pulled the window motor the motor rolls down but will not rotate up put in different motor And it does the same thing

All of the Venture and Montana vans suffer from this problem. It actually is a combination of a bent window regulator and the front track/guide inside the door that bends over time. Its also possible the window has come off the track inside the door, but thats rare. You can try spraying WD 40 or some other 'light' lubricant in the front guide of the window while the window is down....this is only temporary.
Take the door apart again, and you will see 2 bolts towards the front of the door.View attachment 429 (Click on the image. The guide is the thing that is drawn in dotted lines) These hold a window seal/guide within the door. With the window down all the way, try to pull or push on this guide/track in small increments bending it slightly to re-position it, trying the window after every adjustment. If this doesn`t work, you can loosen those 2 bolts and try to reposition the guide for a more firm or more loose contact with the window. If this fails, you may have to by a new regulator. They are a popular item and most aftermarket shops can get them. Dorman makes them aftermarket.

Let me know if this helps.

Ian: That explains a lot cause sometimes my window will start out slow then speed up and I always thought there must be something that needs lubed or bent thanks for the info.

No problem! I own 3 taxis where I live, and have learned alot about these GM vehicles (I own 2 Impalas, 1 Lumina and 2 Montanas.) over the past 5 years as I do all the maintenance/repairs myself. It`s my hope that my experience can help a few people out!

Wow taxis ,you must have some miles racked up on them.Have you ever seen that tv show "Cash Cab" ? They use a Sienna .How do you like the Lumina I think that has the 3800 motor ,I wish mine had that motor . I have owned many Buicks and still have a Regal and really like the motor in fact sold one of my Buicks to my dad and he retired it after 325,000 miles not to bad .

The Lumina is a `95, so it has the 3.1....not the powerhorse I`d like. I think the car would fly with a 3.8! It`s old now (rusting badly) so I have to replace it with another vehicle and it`s probably going to be a Montana.
The 1st Impala is an `02. It currently has 330 000miles (530 000Kms. I live in Canada) on it. The motor runs beautifully. I`ve done the head and intake gaskets twice, and the valve guide seals once...therefore, it burns almost no oil between changes. 1 transmission so far and had I known what I know about these trannys 2 years ago, the origional one might still be working....but that`s another post!

Sorry to stray off topic....

Ian the more I think,I have a few questions if you don't mind ? What kind of oil do you use and weight in your Montana.s and what is your oil change interval ? Do you change your tranny fluid also ? Also do you still put in dex cool (orange stuff) ,does it eat up your gaskets ? Thanks in advance you seem to be a wealth of knowledge . Eric

i had the same problem with a montana and it turned out the switch was bad so i took off the cover and used a jumper wire to get the window up until i got a new switch.

Yes, thats the other issue. Sometimes cleaning the contacts in the switch will give it new life, but for the money, a new aftermarket switch is probably the best bet.
