i been putting DEK-COOL in my car since day 1
now the seal around my engine needs to be replaced my mechanic said its dripping on the lower manifold he told me many guys are switching to the green coolant in sted of DEK-COOL does any one know why the hell they made this crap ........ and can i put the green stuff back in my car and will it hurt anything Else?

Even GM recommends flushing all Dek Cool out of cars and replace with the standard universal coolant. If your LIM gasket has failed, chances are it was caused by the Dek Cool.

the reason they switched to dek cool was that it is supposed to last like 100,000 miles before you have to service it. Alot of people believe this stuff is crap and that it actually plugs up your heater core and other engine parts. not sure how true that is. But yes you can switch back to green but you need to have entire system flushed out thoroughly. I personally just use the universal coolant which is supposed to be ok for either systems.
