no its just screws onthe arm rest in the middle of controls and around the edges.. just look at it closely they try to conseal the screws.. and some have compression fittings.
You need Door and Trim Panel Tools and Flat head/Phillips screwdrivers otherwise you risk damaging the door panel as well as the door panel plastic clips/fasteners.
You might need the Haynes repair manual for your year and make and model it tells you where exactly the screws are located on your door.
I have a haynes repair book for the 2003 grand am but not the 2004 i don't think there's a big difference on those two models
But i can check for you later as i am not at home right now!!
