I have a 96 pontiac grand am se 4 door straight shift the back brakes grab whenever its really cold

or wet? when i push the brake pedal the back brakes grab and the rear of the car pulls down how do i fix this

You have a warped drum/rotor. Have them checked.

That is a common issue with some GMs if the brakes are good they may be building up moisture on the pads causing the inital Grabbing, if they return to normal with a couple of stops I would consider it a normal condition with these cars, some have tried replacment shoes/drums with good results but it may Not cure it.

Proper adjustment of the rear brakes usually will cure this problem.
