start.? When I turn the key, the locks will click back and forth a few times, and the security light stays on, also I can't hear the fuel pump kick on. It turns over fine, but obviously is not getting fuel. I jiggle the key back and forth for awhile and eventually, sometimes a few seconds, other times up to 45 minutes, I hear the fuel pump kick on, and my car runs just fine. It usually works fine for several starts, but I never know when it is going to mess up again.

what size engine do you have! 4 or 6 cylinder?
Check fuel pump getting right voltage and amp.!!
fuel pump may does something but not enough
to run engine all the time. Do you have check engine light on? how many miles on it!! have you service your fuel system soon?

I would check connection on fuel pump first. make sure there is no corrosion.

Sounds like a security system issue you may possibly have a passlock sensor or lock cylinder going bad .. if the security light is on that would be the first clue that it has a passlock system problem (that automaticly kills the fuel pump) and wont allow starting until it times out , but you may also have a bad ground or possibly a battery problem also, you may need to take it to a tech to have it checked out, if it is the passlock system there is nothing you could do to repair it yourself..
