ok so my dad and i have been working on it
yea i know its a girl car but im a girl and i like it and its my first car haha so back off. im not rich or anything and it looks brand new.

anyway...

so when i drive the car for about 5-10 minutes it starts to overheat. im not sure what the thing is called but the arrow starts slowly going up. (sorry im new to cars.)

we first thought that we needed to bleed out the cool air intake because the car was being driven on low fumes.
(in other words we poured in anti-freeze where it was supposed to go and let the car spit out the air pockets)
o yea we also already changed the oil put in new anti-freeze and brake fluid and all that fun stuff.
and the anti-freeze isnt leaking out the top by the cover.

the car drove for about an hour after the bleeding out thing we did it like 3 times and then the arrow started going up again (overheating) and then it went back down.

whenever it starts to overheat the cars really nice heater changes to a colder air almost like a/c but obviously the a/c isnt on.

any ideas?
o yea we replaced the thermostat too and its still acting up :(

and its a 2.2 L if that helps at all?

Sounds like you may have a sticking thermostat or a water pump propeller problem. If you bled out the system, I would check for proper thermostat operation. Check the upper and lower radiator hoses to see if they are about the same temperature. If one is colder than the other you may have a problem with the thermostat. For the water pump, try to look inside the radiator to see if you can see coolant flowing through. If you can see flow, then the water pump should be pumping. I would start with the thermostat though. I hope this helps.
