The model is 2003 pontiac sunfire. Does gm has a warranty for it. Or i have to pay? to replace engine.
I dont know how it broke. Just i start the car and go to college. When when i came back after 2 hours it just did't start. It was-40 almost. I have no idea what happen.

Probably out of warranty, check with dealer to see if there is any programs, but probably you are on the hook. Did it run out of oil? Those engines were almost bullet proof?

GM Warranty is 3 years or 36K mIles, whichever comes first. That means you are out of luck. A Crank Shaft is not a common failure item and most likely caused by never changing or checking the oil. It would be more cost effective to change out the entire engine. A new engine is around 1500 and with install could be around 2000 or more. Time for a new car. Sorry....

if you are not the original owner then no . but you don't give enough info What engine do you have and how do you know the camshaft is broken?
