i might buy a 2006 torrent. need advise

Wife and I are going to test drive a 2006 torrent from a private owner. It has 78,000 miles and she's asking 8900.

What are some things look out for other than the obvious? Also, I've read alot about 2006 owners having issues with multiple wheel hub replacements and the heater blend door breaking do to its motor twisting the post off.

Are these two things happening on all 2006's? Or could this be happening on vehicles made during certain time of the year?

Price sounds high unless it's AWD and loaded with options. Have you checked www.edmunds.com or similar sites?

I have a 2006 Torrent and the only problems I have had in 60K miles is the AC compressor going bad and the resistor for the daytime running lights cracking.

I did receive a notice from GM that a temperature control switch for the heater box can go bad and crack. (Heater door issue you have read about) The letter states that GM will warranty the repair for 10 years and 120K miles. If the repair was already done and paid for, GM will refund you the money.
