i need help with my 1990 firebird its

the timeing? it doesent backfire but it fires from the front of the engine and the ;motor turns on for a few minuts and then it dys down i dont know if its the fuel pump cuz the fuel pump went out but came back on again; and if the fuel pump has to throw certine pounds of presser

Would need to have some more information to be of any help ... what engine ?
V/8 or V/6?
has anything been done to it lately that could have effected the running of the engine .. (replaced plugs wires ETC...)
