I have a 2003 grand am and when the weather started to get warm. I notice that my temp gauge starting reaching to 240. I never seen it over 200. It did a over flow twice where the coolant came out. I added the fluid back in the over flow tank. When it did do the over flow the temp gauge didn't go over the 200 I sat and let me car run for about 30 mins and never did see the fans come on. So i had everything checked form the hoses, leaks, nothing is mixing together, water pump, thermostat. Some are saying its my temp sensor not turning my fans on when the motor gets to a certain temp. When I did have it running and the temp gauge reached 240 and no fans turned , i turned on the A/C and both fans came on stayed on after turning the A/C off then the temp gauge starting going down to about 190, so I'm confused about what is going on ? I really dont know much about car when it comes to under the hood.
Thanks in advance
.after a lot of the overheating post here people was talking about having a muddy like something in the caps I did check my over flow cap and
i did see some light brown middy stuff on the cap. So do that mean I just need to flush my radiator
