If I have a 1998 Firebird with a V6 3.8L. Can I install a 350 engine without changing anything but

the engine? I bought a 1998 Firebird with a V6 3.8L engine in it. My question is can I install a 350 or LS1 engine without changing the transmission, rear end, and drive shaft and the ECM and BCM? Or does that all have to be changed with engine change?

Your going to need new motor mounts, the tranny that is in your car weather it be an auto or 5speed will not be strong enough to hold up for long. Youll need heavier shocks in the front. The rear end will work but not for long as it wasnt made to handle that much power. And yes you will need a new computor harness. A rear end can be done for pretty cheap. I suggest buying a complete motor tranny combo...new or used, install that first... If this is your daily driver, you can still drive on the rear end you have just dont be stupid and start pounding on the go button. Then you can do the rear end later if you need..

ABORT!!! it will be a huge and expensive time consuming job if u want a V8 sell it and buy a formula (same body) or trans am
