If Pontiac closes or "phases out" will my 2007 Pontiac Torrent resale value or

trade-in value go down?
I want to sell the car in the future and its not in high demand so it will be hard to sell if not harder, Corret??

Because the Torrent is equal to a Chevy Equinox, I would say it will be about the same as other suv's in that class. Parts will still be easy to come by as long as Chevy continues to make the Equinox. Servicing will also be no problem when done at a Chevy dealer. Short answer - no, it will be ok for now.

they are closing for sure..
I have an pontiac aztex and i think the answer is yes
but there will still be parts and shops for pontiac

The Oldsmobiles vehicle values did not drop anymore than any other GM car after they shut down. In fact a few of the popular models lost less value. The Torrent being the same as the Equinox should have the same values.

Anyone can jump on me if I'm wrong, but I thought they manufactureres (GM) would have to keep parts for x amount of years after a vehicle is produced.

Typically they keep parts for 10 years but it depends on demand. Some obscure trim attachment may disappear sooner than 10 years since it typically doesnt wear out.
