I have a 05 sunfire. I drove it to work and when I went to leave the key will not turn. Now I have to Keys. I had my wife bring me the spare and the same thing happened. Now it is stuck at my work. What I want to know is if I take the ignition switch of can I crank it with a screwdriver or something like that. Or will the car freak out and not work.

did you try turning the steering wheel in both directions the same time you turn the ignition on as explained in the owners manual on page 2-17?
i doubt you can remove the switch if you cannt turn it.
