I currently own a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, and when I turn my car off and open driver door. The car is dinging at me and the display screen says “key in ignition “ when the key isn’t in there. And also when I shut my door or lock the car. My headlights start flashing (strobing) . Do not know what is going on, and ideas would be greatly appreciated

There is a GM recall on the ignition switch, go to you local GM dealer.

You have to pay for the recall part.
I just did.
GM wants to put a plastic clio on your key, then tell you its fixed.
Its a bunch of BS.
Ignition switch at Advance Auto was $80.
Bought it last week and it didn't solve my ignition problem.
