I'm thinking its a fuse

Ok here is my issue. I have a 2003 pontiac sunfire. It has been an awesome car for me, never had any problems with it. I think i'm at 200k miles on it now. The reason I say think is because the odometer doesn't tell me anymore, however all the gagues still work fine, also at the same time the lights for the knobs on the ac went out, and the light for my shifter went out. My car is an automatic so what I'm trying to say is that the backlights for the P R N D 2 1 dont light up anymore. Checked a few fuses and they all were fine, maybe i'm checking the wrong ones. I dont have an owners manual, and was hoping somone here may be able to help me out in determing which fuse it is, assuming it is one. At least I hope it is. I'd hate for it to be in the wiring. Thanks for your help in advance.

It could also be the bulb

I really doubt that seeing how in the different locations the problem occured at the same time.

You are correct it seemed like you were mainly concerned about the shifter and it sounded like they all did not go out at the same time. Have you considered it could be the dimmer switch for the dash lights?
