Installing auto dimming mirror

Hello,

I recently purchased an Auto dimming mirror for my 2008 Torrent AWD Base. The connector plugs straight in and the OnStar buttons work, but the auto dim function as well as the compass are not working. What do I need to do to remedy this. I can provide the mirror part number if needed.

I would assume it is a software function that has to be activated. You need a private shop with Tech II capabilities or a dealer.
