Is a '99 pontiac grand prix worth modding?

I have a stock grand prix gt and I really want to make it faster, but everyone I ask tells me its not worth the money. Its something I want to do, but I don't want to waste money if its not a good car to upgrade. I don't have any other cars to choose from, so I either will or won't do anything.

It's not worth repairing, let alone upgrading. On SAT yahoo had a story about a congressional "Clunker bill" to encourage ppl to trade cars, I read it at 5:00 edt
