we removed the muffler on are 2000 pontiac grand am and just straight piped it from there but then the car died about 3 hours later, we aren't sure if it was from the muffler being gone or if it was other problems sense to fix the car we ended up replacing alot more than the exhaust system sense we thought that was it could anyone tell me if it is needed or can it be removed without killing the car?
